Impact investing aims to solve social and environmental issues using the tools of capitalism. It provides positive impacts in the world and competitive financial returns to impact investors. Keiretsu Forum members, special guests and community partners are cordially invited to hear a panel of fund managers and impact investment experts. They'll discuss return-driven strategies for investing in companies that solve social and/or environmental challenges – ranging from seed stage, to venture, and large cap, both local and international.

Rick Beckett is CEO of Global Partnerships, they currently have over $60 MM of fund capital across 3 Social Investment Funds (as of Dec 2013). Since inception, they have made nearly $117.5 million in impact investments in 68 social enterprises that deliver market sustained solutions which empower people to earn a living and improve their lives. They have re-paid 100% of investors on time and in full.
Joseph Williams is
Dean of Seattle Pacific University Business School. SPU articulates a vision of well-managed businesses as change agents having the potential for substantial social and economic transformation. Host of the recently completed 8th Annual Social Ventures Plan Competition, SPU’s faculty and students are long-vested in the incubation of for-profit businesses that contribute to human flourishing. Previously Dr. Williams was a sales, engineering, and consulting executive at Microsoft and at Sun Microsystems.
Carolynn Duncan if
Founding Partner of Northwest Social Venture Fund.
The Northwest Social Venture Fund, is a foundation-owned, social venture
fund. Our mission is to alleviate global suffering through scalable social
entrepreneurship & impact investing. We offer startup acceleration,
unconferences for social impact, support the Fast Pitch competition, provide
due diligence analytics training for students, investors and practitioners, and
Series A investment capital for promising social enterprises that target
financial returns and scalable mission outcomes.
Tammy Haygood is part
of the Impact Investment Group at UBS
Securities. The Impact
Investment Group believes Impact Investing doesn't need to mean sacrificing
returns. They use mission focused
investing along with return enhancement strategies to achieve this goal. Recently, they implemented a strategy of
buying Tesla, shorting Exxon, and opportunistically selling calls on Tesla.
Michael Luni Libes is
Founder and Managing Director of Fledge. Fledge is the “conscious company”
accelerator, helping entrepreneurs who aim to do good for the world, by doing
business. This is accomplished by an
intense, 10-week program of education, guidance, and mentorship, organized as a
seed-stage venture capital fund, paying entrepreneurs to join in the program in
exchange for a unique revenue-based equity investment. 25 "fledglings" to-date, all this
funded by impact investors like you, with room for more.
Will Poole is
Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Unitus Seed Fund.
Unitus Seed Fund (USF) has secured over $11 million in investment
commitments for its seed-stage venture capital fund focused on accelerating
“BoP startups” – startups serving low-income populations in India. Our strategy
is to invest in profitable, scalable companies that also have built-in scaled
positive impact on large low-income populations. Unitus Seed Fund is currently
the most active impact investment investor in India.
Johanna Posada is
Managing Director and Founder of Elevar Equity. Since 2006, Elevar has
